Vega is the Oldham County seat. Vega is about forty miles
from Amarillo. Vega is located on the old Route 66. This brought many visitors
to Vega who were traveling through the state. Although the Interstate passes
near Vega it does not get the same amount of Vega visitors that it used
to get. Vega has an unusual museum that has artifacts from Vega heritage
and history. Vega is predominately a farming town. Vega gets its name from
the Spanish translation. Vega means meadow. Vega has over a thousand residents.
Schools in Vega are under the control of Vega ISD. Vega has been the setting
for many television shows and movies. The Vega Oldham County Airport is
