Van Horn is Culberson County seat. Major Jefferson Van Horn
gave the city of Van Horn its name. Mining and ranching were the mainstays
of Van Horn in the early days. Today large wind turbines at Van Horn dominate
the Van Horn landscapes. Van Horn has over two thousand citizens. Van Horn
is on Interstate 10. Van Horn has a rich heritage. Van Horn is situated
on the Old Spanish Trail. Van Horn was welcoming watering point in the dry
desert conditions that prevailed in the west. Van Horn Wells provided Van
Horn and its visitors with water. Van Horn is the gateway to Big Bend and
the mountains at Guadalupe.
