Taylor is located in Williamson County. Taylor Station was
a stopping point for the railroad. Taylor was previously known as Taylorsville
but following a vote it was changed to Taylor again. Much of the Taylor
economy was based on cotton production around the Taylor area. The Moody
Museum in Taylor has photographic records of past events in Taylor history.
Taylor is next to US Highway 79 and State Highway 95.Taylor has over fifteen
thousand residents. Taylor is about twenty miles from Austin. Taylor is
eighteen miles from Interstate 35 and Round Rock. Taylor Municipal airport
is to the west side of the city of Taylor.
Restaurants in Taylor include Louie Mueller BBQ which is popular with Taylor
visitors. The Walburg Restaurant is also located in Taylor.
