Round Rock is in south central Williamson County. Round Rock
is about fifteen miles from Austin. Round Rock is on Interstate 35. Round
Rock was previously known as Brushy Creek but renamed Round Rock in 1845.
The name derived from a round rock nearby geographic landmark. Like many
towns Round Rock had to move location when bypassed by the railroad tracks.
Many people live in Round Rock and commute to Austin for their employment.
Many large corporations are based in Round Rock including Dell. The Round
Rock Dell Diamond ball park and stadium draws crowds to its many events
and minor league fixtures. Round Rock has experienced growing population
now thought to exceed ninety thousand Round Rock residents.
