The Dallas suburb of Rockwall is the county seat of Rockwall
County. Rockwall is about twenty two miles from Dallas. Rockwall has road
access to Interstate 30. Rockwall has over twenty thousand residents and
its public schools are in the Rockwall ISD. The name Rockwall is derived
from the fact that when settlers tried to dig wells to provide a supply
of water they always encountered an underground rockwall. The city of Rockwall
has many higher education establishments based in it. Rockwall stands on
Lake Ray Hubbard and Rockwall visitors can participate in a wide choice
of Rockwall water based activities. Rockwall has three golf courses and
over three hundred acres of Rockwall park land.
