Rockport the county seat of Aransas County is to the south
of Live Oak Peninsula. The name Rockport is derived from the fact that it
is a port built on a rock ledge. Rockport attracts many artists as Rockport
has many galleries and art exhibitions. Rockport visitors also come to see
the Rockport Maritime Museum. Rockport has over eight thousand residents.
