Montgomery is the county seat of Montgomery County. Montgomery
is reported to have been the city in which the Texas Flag or Lone Star originated.
Montgomery County has seen rapid growth recently. Houston is about fifty
miles southeast from Montgomery. Conroe is almost fifteen miles east from
Montgomery. The National Forest Sam Houston is located near to Montgomery
and provides visitors to Montgomery with many outdoor pastimes. A trip to
Montgomery should also include a visit to Lake Conroe where you can enjoy
a cruise. There are many challenging golf courses in the Montgomery region.
Montgomery has good conference and convention facilities. Montgomery has
a huge selection of good restaurants.
