Monahans is in northeast Ward County. Monahans has good road
access as it is built at the intersect of Interstate Highway 20 and State
Highway 18. Odessa is about thirty five miles from Monahans. The city of
Monahans has over sixteen restaurants catering for most tastes and styles
of cooking. Monahans has almost seven thousand citizens in the Monahans
Wickett Pyote Independent School District. The four thousand acre Monahans
Sandhills State Park is only a short drive from downtown Monahans. Interestingly
there is an enormous forest of Oak trees in the Monahans parkland. Monahans
hosts many rodeos and live stock shows. Monahans future appears as a marketing
and financial hub.
