Mesquite is partly in Dallas County and partly in Kaufman
County. Mesquite has a growing number of residents and current estimates
put the number exceeding one hundred and thirty thousand. A popular annual
event is the Mesquite Rodeo Championships. The Mesquite rodeo event is hosted
in the Resistol Arena and this is home to Mesquite Convention Center. Mesquite
prospered in the late 1800's and the railroad meant it could ship farm produce
around the country as Mesquite was predominately an agricultural town. Today
Mesquite is home to some large technology and software manufacturers. Mesquite
stands on Interstate 20, 30, 635 and 352. Good transport links in Mesquite
are enhanced by the Mesquite Metro Airport and with the DFW airports both
within thirty miles Mesquite is a popular destination. Many people come
to Mesquite especially for the shopping Malls. Amenities in Mesquite include
many multi screen movie theatres and countless Mesquite restaurants.
