McAllen is in Hidalgo County in the south of Texas. McAllen
is only five miles from the Rio Grande River. McAllen has over one hundred
and forty thousand inhabitants. McAllen is situated in the Rio Grande Valley.
This location means that McAllen has many bird watching enthusiasts who
come to McAllen to observe migratory species. In 1904 Mr. F. McAllen started
to establish a community and decided to call it West McAllen. Some four
years late another community set up nearby was known as East McAllen. Within
a few years they combined and the city of McAllen was incorporated in 1911.
In modern times McAllen houses many nation and international head quarters
of industry leading corporations. McAllen - Miller International Airport
provides the Rio Grande Valley with quality air travel opportunities. McAllen
has four swimming pools and a number of walking and jogging trails throughout
the McAllen Parks. McAllen has over twenty parks throughout the city. McAllen
