Lytle is for the biggest part in Atascosa County but part
of Medina and Bexar Counties also. Austin is just more than one hundred
miles from Lytle. The city of Lytle is only a forty minute drive from San
Antonio. Amenities near to Lytle include the attractions on the Gulf Coast
and the water based activities on Medina lake. Lytle has over two thousand
people within the Lytle Independent School District. The city of Lytle covers
a city area of almost eleven square kilometers. The name of Lytle was derived
from Mr. John Lytle a local ranch owner. The community developed around
Lytle in 1862. The economy in Lytle was enhanced when the railroad came.
