Lake Dallas is in Denton County. Lake Dallas is located on
the shoreline of Lewisville Lake. Denton is about ten miles north of Lake
Dallas. Originally Lake Dallas was called French Settlement to reflect the
origin of its settlers. Lake Dallas was also previously called Garza after
a railroad employee but in 1929 the name Lake Dallas was finally selected.
In 1965 following a lengthy legal battle Lake Dallas was incorporated as
the city of Lake Dallas. Lake Dallas is served by the Lake Dallas ISD. From
Lake Dallas to North Central Texas College is less than four miles. From
Lake Dallas to North Texas Universities is less than ten miles along Interstate
35.
