The township of Junction became the city of Junction in 1927.
Junction is in Kimble County. Junction saw a small community of people build
homes in 1870 at the point where there is a junction of the north and south
Llano Rivers. Junction has had previous titles - it started out as Denham,
then Denham City, soon after it was Junction City and in 1894 it finally
was shortened to Junction. Junction is home to part of Lubbock's Texas Tech
University it is called the Texas Tech University at Junction. Places to
visit in the junction area include Fort McKavett and its eighty acre site
of historical interest.
