Texas. Jasper is a popular destination for camping and walkers. Houston
is one hundred and thirty miles southwest of Jasper and two hundred and
thirty miles from Dallas. Jasper is located near to Lake BA Steinhagen and
Lake Sam Rayburn. Toledo Bend Reservoir is also near to Jasper. The Jasper
local economy owes much to the tourist industry and Timber. Jasper has a
wealth of pine timber stock. Jasper currently has over eight thousand residents.
Jasper city limits extends to about eleven square miles.
