Hallettsville is in Lavaca County on Highway 77 in South Texas.
The first settlers came to Hallettsville in 1838 and were mostly from Germany
and Czechoslovakia. The name Hallettsville was in honor of a Mrs. J Hallet
a local landowner. Hallettsville is located midway between San Antonio and
Houston. The Lavaca River is adjacent to the city of Hallettsville. The
park in Hallettsville has facilities for golf, camping and RV parking. Hallettsville
is a destination for hunting due to the amount of wildlife. Houston is about
one hundred miles north east of Hallettsville. Visitor attractions in Hallettsville
