Glen Rose is located in Somervell County. Glen Rose has over
2000 residents within the Glen Rose Independent school District. Glen Rose
got its name from a settler Mrs. Jordan who thought that's its flowers and
roses reminded her of her home in Scotland - she came up with the name Rose
Glen - later it was changed by the towns people to Glen Rose. Sites of interest
in Glen Rose include The Dinosaur Valley State Park. Also near to Glen Rose
is the Texas State Amphitheatre. The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is in the
Glen Rose area. To the north of Glen Rose is the nuclear power station called
Comanche Peak. Downtown square in Glen Rose has a wide variety of shops.
