Dripping Springs is in the Texas Hill Country within Hays
County. Austin is about 24 miles east of Dripping Springs. As Dripping Springs
is located in the hill country it has wonderful scenery and views over the
countryside and steppe prairies. Dripping Springs was only recently incorporated
as the city of Dripping Springs in 1981. Local Dripping Springs residents
did not want their town to be annexed to Austin. Local attractions in Dripping
Springs include the Pound House Museum which is also Dripping Springs oldest
building. While the population of Dripping Springs is 1500it has over 19,000
residents in the immediate surrounding area.
