Denton is the county seat of Denton County. Denton lies in
an area often referred to as the Golden Triangle. It is a triangular location
formed between the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth and Denton. The city got
its name from a local Lawyer Mr. JB Denton in 1857. Denton is home to two
Universities, Texas Woman's University and the University of North Texas.
In downtown Denton Square is the old Denton Courthouse which dates back
to 1896. This is home to a Museum and houses photographic records of Denton
history and cultural heritage. Denton Municipal Airport is located four
miles to the west from downtown Denton with access to Interstate 35 E &
W. DFW international is less than twenty five minute drive from Denton.
Alliance Airport is just a fifteen minute drive from Denton.
