Boerne is to be found in Kendall County Texas. San Antonio
is only 26 miles to the southeast of Boerne on Interstate 10. Boerne is
served by the Boerne Independent School District. The town of Boerne gets
its name from Ludwig Boerne the famous publicist and German poet. Even today
there is still some evidence of this German influence that gave Boerne its
name so many years ago .It is understood however that Ludwig Boerne never
actually visited Boerne. In recent years Boerne has become home to many
commuters who are employed in nearby San Antonio but who enjoy the small
town friendly atmosphere the Boerne provides. Boerne has a wide choice of
good restaurants in downtown Boerne.
